Admin: Post-Scan Action in Adobe Acrobat

Part I

First, set up JavaScript.

  • Copy the javascript file: "H:\Dole Archive Files\_NewScans\_Processed\actions\adobe_dc\SetRemoveFooter.js"

into the user's Acrobat folder:

  • C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Acrobat DC\Acrobat\Javascripts

Part II

Then add the Post-Scan Action to Acrobat.

  1. Go to Tools > Action Wizard > Manage Actions.
  2. Click the Import button.
  3. Select the PostScan action file located at H:\Dole Archive Files\_NewScans\_Processed\actions\adobe_dc.
  4. Click Open.

The action should look like this:

Save it.

Part III

Double check that the action is setup correctly (it will not work if you skip this part.)

Now double check that all settings are correct:

  1. Mouse over Save to Local Folder. The path should be H:\Dole Archive Files\_NewScans\_Processed\MasterScanHolding
  2. Click on the first Preflight. The specified settings should be as below:

  3. Click Save even if you didn't change anything.
  4. Click on the second Preflight. The specified settings should be as below:
  5. Click Save even if you didn't change anything.
  6. Mouse over Save to Folder. It should show: H:\Dole Archive Files\_NewScans\_Processed. If not, double click on it and set up Save to local folder with that path.
  7. Click on Specify settings under Execute Javascript. It should look like the screenshot below:
  8. Mouse over Save. The help text that pops up should read "Save" (to save into the current folder, which is _Processed). If it says something different, double click on it and select Save.

Part IV: Troubleshooting

If it's still not working, you may need to delete and recreate the Preflight steps, which are located under Document Processing.

It may be possible to use the watermark function instead of javascript. Javascript seems faster, but might be worth a try:
