Audio Visual Materials



The Dole Archives houses moving images in a wide variety of formats, including VHS, 8 mm and 16 mm film, U-matic and Beta tapes, and digital video. In addition, the collection consists of approximately 900 audio cassette tapes documenting the political career of Robert J. Dole.
Audiovisual footage dates from 1943 and includes interviews, speeches, debates, and political advertisements. Other individuals who appear in the audio cassette tapes, videos and films include American presidents and foreign heads of state, senators, legislators and dignitaries, TV personalities as well as constituents and staffers.
Audio recordings include radio programs, press conferences, debates, discussions, hearings and meetings, as well as broadcasts from the radio series entitled “Face Off” (4/16/1984-11/10/1987) featuring Senator Robert Dole and Senator Ted Kennedy.
